Fake Lashes... a topic or makeup product that literally has driven me wild as it costs so much nerves and patience until you get it right when you are as impatient as me, haha.
After saying goodbye to my lash extensions (and of course missing them to bits) I thought I´d start reaching for fake lashes for nights out as they literally make such a huge difference to my whole appearance. Well it always seemed easier watching other girls putting them on, when I did it, it felt like an impossible task.
First off I can say that it really takes some practice before you master it perfectly and have those falsies on in two minutes, but in collaboration with FalseEyelashes I´ve put together some tips that have helped me a lot:

Start Simple

Of course those long fluttery lashes are way prettier than those short natural ones but trust me, when you have no idea how to stick those lashes on or where to hold onto them with your tweezers, it makes the whole thing easier when you don´t have long lashes in your way. FalseEyelashes.co.uk is literaly the perfect shop to look through when deciding what lashes you want to start with! They have a huge selection of different brands and styles together with every additional product you need such as tweezers and glue. My personal favourite brand is KISS, they are really easy to apply and the glue that comes with the lashes is absolutey amazing - it´s really strong and so you don´t need to worry about the lashes coming off. I started with their Tulip lashes as I always found long lashes very irritating in the beginning cause I was more worried to not bend them over too much or break them. Other than that when you´re wearing falsies for the first time it´s something you have to get used to as you can lightly feel and depending on the length, you can also see them and of course you look a bit different and too long lashes could be uncomfortable and we don´t want all the work to be done for nothing cause you don´t like the way they look.
So start simple and then build it up to more dramatic lashes.

Fit Them To The Size Of Your Eyes

I think this step could easily be forgotten but most of the times the fake lashes are too long for your own eyes so basically all you have to do is put them on your lash line without the glue and see how much you can cut off. Some cut the outer part off but I actually prefer to shorten them on the inner part as I´d rather keep those longer outer lashes than the short inner ones. This step is the easiest as you can´t do much wrong, if you cut a bit too much off it´s barely visible after putting on mascara.

Cut Them In Halves

This was the tip that changed absolutely everything for me.
I never managed to make the whole lash band stick at once as I never met the middle of my eye with it so it was always too short or not right on one end. By cutting the lash band into halves it got a lot easier. After I fit the band to the size of my eye I count the points on the band and cut them through in the middle. I often also only stick on the outer part as this can give you a more cat-eye effect.

Wait For The Glue To Dry

This one is a really simple tip but so important as when you try to glue the lashes on too soon you will make an absolute mess on your eye lids and when it´s too late they won´t stick properly.
So what I do is put a fair amount of glue on the band, when it´s frehsly on it´s pure white and as soon as it gets slightly clearer and more see through I´ll stick it on. This way they will already stick but you can still move them and pull them into their right place. In the beginning I always waited exactly 30 seconds but to be honest it always depends on the glue and the amount you put on so just watch closely and you will see what I mean by getting more clearer.
Alternative you can also use black lash glue as this will blend more easily with your eyeliner, in case you´re wearing one, but I find that way it´s a bit harder to see when is the right time to put on.

Select The Right Brand For You

There are an unbelievable amount of different brands that all have gorgeous falsies to offer but still they are all slightly, whether it be in the quality or the thickness of the lash band, etc. I always thought I´d get on with the Ardell Lashes just like everyone else, but I find them so much harder to put on then compared to KISS Lashes. Not a lot drugstores sell different fake lash brands so I really recommend looking through FalseEyelashes.co.uk - I received absolute beautiful and natural lashes from Eylure which I´m really excited to try. I would have no idea where to get this brand from here in Germany, so it´s really cool that you can not only get many different things from one shop but also discover new brands and styles.

Once you get the hang of it, I promise you are going to want to wear falsies everyday haha. They make such a huge positive difference and make every makeup look a whole lot prettier.

I can´t remember when I last stood outside enjoying the warmth of the sun, which isn´t not good as I like to keep my summer tan as long as possible, haha. I naturally am very pale so I love every single product that can help me look a bit more bronzed and are easy to use. Unfortunately bronzing products can really easily have an orange undertone but the products I´ve picked are perfect for pale girls:

Clarins Addition ConcentrĂ© Eclat Tan Drops

I generally never use fake tans apart from these tan drops from Clarins. The reason why is because with normal tan I fear that it gets patchy or too dark, but these tan drops are really easy to use as you mix it into your night cream or body lotion and so you can decide by how many drops you mix in, how dark you want to go. Normally I use 2-3 drops and a bit more moisturizer so it´s enough to also work it into my neck. The next morning you get a really natural slightly taned finish. It wears easily off by using a toner, so no need to scrub it harshly off.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream in Medium

I think I´ve mentioned my love for this foundation more than enough by now haha, so I´ll go straight to the shade I´ve picked it in. To be fair I´m really pale and often get foundations in the lightest or second lightest shade availabe, so I was a bit worried at first to go with the shade Medium, but it´s such a natural slightly browner shade without any undertones (not orange in the slightest) that I can easily work it in without getting that weird colour difference between my face and neck. I do like to use my The Body Shop Honey Bronzer to set it and then also on my neck but generally it´s not necessary to put a light bronzer on. When I´ve used the Clarins Tan Drops the night before it looks even better, just like I´ve just come back from a vacation, haha.

Maybelline City Bronzer

If there´s one thing I´m just not good at, at all it´s getting a sharp contour. So instead of keep trying I love to use a nice warm bronzer to get a bit of shape and warmth on my face. I´m not the biggest fan of drugstore bronzers as they tend to be too orange but the Maybelline City Bronzer is something else. It´s a warm brown shade, perfect amount of pigmentation to build it up. I like to use a brush like this from Look Fantastic as it´s the perfect size to put some powder under and over your cheekbone to get a more natural look. This bronzer also has a tiny bit glitter in it, which I love as it´s doesn´t look too heavy and muddy when wearing it.

Nars Laguna Bronzer

If you are one of the few people who doesn´t own or tried the Nars Laguna Bronzer it´s definitely time to do so! It´s definitely a lot more pigmented than the Maybelline Bronzer and is also more glittery but I have to say it´s just the most amazing eyeshadow - yes eyeshadow, haha. As a bronzer it was a bit too much for me, but as a eyeshadow it´s just perfect. You don´t need a lot powder to get that natural brown smokey eye look for everyday and the best thing is that you could actually wear it without a primer underneath - and that´s coming from someone with oily eyelids. I don´t know why but it doesn´t budge at all the whole day.

Sleek Highlighter Dome

Now that I´m all fresh and bronze-y I like to add a nice decent glow. When I´m not getting ready for a night out, where I definitely prefer a strong glow, I like to use a more natural champagne-y cream highlighter like the Sleek Highlighter Dome. It´s just sooo pretty, it doesn´t have glitter particles in it so you get a decent shine by lightly tapping and blending it onto your cheekbones with a beauty blender. You could also just draw a line with it on your cheeks but I find it then harder to blend. It stays on really well and doesn´t look cakey on top of foundation.

How do you get that Bronzed Look on during the Winter?

Red Lipsticks
I´ve been stuck on my nude tones from the summer time for a very long time now, but as the last warmer days and even Halloween did pass now, I guess it´s time to atleast update my lipstick choices to some darker earth tones. I guess the typical autumn lipstick shade is still a berry tone, but to be honest I´m not really feeling it anymore, I definitely prefer a nice settled brown tone or a red is also totally fine. That´s what my choice are inspired by, and I think some of you might like these shades aswell:

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Always Red

Let´s start with the brightest lipstick choice. It´s my very first liquid lipstick from Sephora and I´m loving it! It´s highly pigmented, feels very comfortable on my lips and the colour is pretty much the same as it looks in the tube - a nice bright red. It slides on really easily and stays in place so well, like I went out clubbing with it and it nearly didn´t budge at all. Even with being quite pale during the winter months, this shade still suits me quite well and isn´t too much or makes me look even more pale. What I also find really good and important is that it´s really moisturizing and the first layer of it is thick enough to cover dry lips, but it doesn´t feel to heavy on your lips, actually you barely notice having anything on.
Swatches

Sephora #LIPSTORIES in Labyrinth City

When I first opened this lipstick I was a bit suprised by how deep red it looks, it even put me off a bit first cause I thought it didn´t suit me, but when I swatched it I completely changed my mind. It´s a stunning purple-y brown shade that can even be worn everyday. For a lipstick it´s unbelievably high pigmented, very creamy and dries to nice matte finish. Again this is also my first lipstick from Sephora and honestly I´m so pleased by the quality of both of these lip products. When it´s dried down to it´s matte finish, it doesn´t make your lips look nor feel dried out but rather very moisturized,. I do have to say, the packaging isn´t the most luxury one, but still quite cute. All in one it´s a big hit for me.

Illamasqua Lava Lipstick in Vixen

The most natural red lipstick is definitely this one. As you can see its very unique and beautiful design has different shades of red in it, so after applying the lipstick it gives you a nice light red/rose semi-matte finish. I do have to say though, it does need a few more layers to get a strong pigmentation and the lipstick itself feels a bit heavier than the other lip products. I still really enjoy using it, cause it´s just a gorgeous shade and it stays on pretty well, and only for the design it´s something nice to have in your makeup bag. I´ve also used this on Halloween on my eyes, so if you ever need a base for a more red-toned eyeshadow look, this is the one for you, haha.

What is your favourite lipstick shade for Autumn and Winter?

Mascara is definitely a beauty product I love to experiment with and try different ones out.
I mentioned it a lot of times before but I love a dramatic "false lashes"-finish, so a good mixture between length and volume but a bit more volume. Some of you might´ve read my post "The False Lashes Look" where I´ve mentioned how much I love the Dior Diorshow Pump´n´Volume Mascara - well I wanted to repurchase it but accidentally got this Dior Diorshow Mascara.

Well that´s definitely a different way to try out new products, haha. Luckily I´m not dissapointed in my wrong order at all, this mascara is just as lovely as the other one but more for the natual look!

Consistency

The first thing I´ve noticed when opening the tube is the heavy perfume scent this mascara has. It smells really good and flowery but I could imagine that it is a problem for girls with sensitive eyes. For me it´s totally fine though and so it kinda shows what a luxury product it is, I don´t know but it kinda gives me the feeling of luxury cause I never had a makeup product that smelled that good!
The consistency itself is really nice to apply, it´s not as sticky and wet as the cheaper mascaras so you get a voluminous look right from the start. It´s really the perfect mascara for everyday as after the first layer you get a really natural look with a bit of volume and nicely separated lashes and with the second layer it gets a bit more dramatic without looking too much!
Once the mascara is dried down it doesn´t budge or crumble, I find it´s the worst thing ever when you have black spots or smudges under your eyes, which happens normally quite often as I´m someone who gets watery eyes really fast when I´m laughing for example. As it holds onto your lashes that well, it takes a bit longer to remove it aswell. I use a oil-infused micellar water and wet my lashes with it a bit before rubbing the cotton pad all over to get it off and even then I need a bit patience haha. My lashes still feel very soft though when wearing the mascara so it´s all good and comfortable.

The Brush

I love these kind of mascara brushes. They just give you the perfect amount of volume and length and still separates your lashes. With that kind it´s also really easy to built the effect and amount on your lahses. The mascara itself doesn´t stick or gets clumpy on this brush aswell which I find is also really important when applying it to your bottom lashes - nothing is worse than wet clumpy bottom lashes.

The Finish

On the picture below you can see what the finish looks like after two layers - layers as in applying mascara once waiting a bit for it to dry and then apply another layer. For my liking one layer is "too natural" I´m more the type to put the main focus on my eyes and that´s definitely possible with this mascara. As you can see pretty well here aswell is that with the brush my lashes are beautifully separated but not too much "spider lashes", they still cling together at the roots which gives you an effect of a bit extra volume without looking clumpy.

So even though I bought this mascara more or less by accident, I really enjoy using it!
It´s something you can treat yourself to, if you are someone who likes a bit of luxury in your daily makeup routine. I love the finish, the feeling while wearing it - like it not drying my eyes or making them itchy - and of course that it´s smells so good like a flowery feminine perfume!

Unbelievable how long it has been since the summer has ended again, as soon as you get used to the hot temperatures, it gets colder again and unfortunately the days get shorter again...
As September has still been quite warm, I didn´t feel like changing up my makeup routine any time soon, but now I´m slowly switching a few products!

I have to say that in terms of makeup, the transition from summer to autumn is definitely a very fun thing. In summer I really don't wear much makeup, of course because of the temperatures, so I'm very happy to finally be able to reach a little deeper into the drawer again and put on a little more makeup.
In the beginning there are really only small changes for me, for example I can finally wear Foundation again, as well as eyeshadow and eyeliner. Nevertheless, I stay with lighter nude tones before I switch to cooler brown tones.

The following products are therefore currently in my daily makeup routine:

Base

For a long time I have used the NYX Angel Veil Primer as a primer. It is really so good! The most important thing for me with a primer is that it covers the pores around my nose to get an even skin texture. This primer fulfills exactly this point, it covers my pores very well without clogging them and also helps to keep my makeup in place. I always blend it in with the Zoeva Buffing Brush, it works very well and I just like it more than having the remains of the primer on my fingers.

My absolute favorite is the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. Wow, just wow! So far I've only heard good things about this product, but couldn't really imagine that a CC Cream can be as covering as a foundation - wrong thought. It gives such a beautiful skin complexion! Even, fresh and with a hint of glow. You can hardly notice that you have applied something and also when looking closely, there is no trace of a thick makeup layer to be seen. I can really recommend it!
I only apply the foundation with my Beauty Blender - it's hard to believe but the difference of the result when applied with this sponge or with a brush is really immense!

As Concealer I love the Maybelline The Eraser Concealer. I think it´s already my third bottle of it and I´ll keep using it. I find it has the perfect amount of coverage for everyday and it´s also so easy to blend with a damp sponge. It blends in really naturally and so it´s hardly noticeable that you´re wearing a concealer.

As a powder I have been using The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 003 Medium Mat for a long time, but no not as a bronzer but to set. The bronzer in this color is still so light that I can apply it to my whole face and get a more "beautiful" skin color for me, and not underline my paleness even more.
For a hint of colour I apply the Artdeco Bronzing Blush. A beautiful three-coloured blush which, when all colours are mixed together, gives a beautiful sun-kissed complexion. Unfortunately this is only available on the Artdeco website as it is a limited edition as far as I know.
Finally there are a few splashes of the Artdeco Fixing Spray and the base is done!

Brows & Eyes

When it comes to eyebrows, I really always switch between extremely filled, defined eyebrows and the more natural look, where I hardly fill up my eyebrows and just comb them. Right now I love the natural look!
For this I use the NYX Fill & Fluff Eyebrow Pomeda Pencil in Chocolate. I definitely prefer eyebrow pencils because they are easier to use. This one is really very strongly pigmented, so you have to be careful not to get Eding eyebrows, haha. With the brush on one side I comb my eyebrows upwards and then only fill out the tail and the lower line, because my eyebrows are generally thicker anyway, this is enough for me.
As Mascara my new darling, the Dior Diorshow Mascara, should not be missing. Since I have already talked about it in more detail in my previous post, I will now be short. Long, voluminous eyelashes that look like fake eyelashes.

Lips

Currently I use almost every day the Artdeco Hydra Care Lipstick in Rose Oasis. It is a really beautiful natural rosé shade, a little more pink but not too extreme. I really like it a lot and the best part is the moisture strip in the middle of the lipstick. It gives a lot of care to the lips, which feel really soft for a long time.
For a browner lipstick I love the MaxFactor Lipstick in Burnt Caramel. A nice pink/brown tone. It also looks a lot darker in the packaging than it really is. It also feels very pleasant on the lips and lasts very well and long.

A smooth foundation finish is not only aesthatically pleasing, but also makes applying and playing around with makeup so much more fun. Over the years I´ve tried myself through lots of different products to achieve exactly this finish - and let me tell you, there are so many cringe worth-y pictures from my early teen years, where I had a thick foundation layer + lots of powder on - absolutely horrible!
Finding the right foundation, that fits for you in terms like feeling, coverage, finish, etc., is definitely a huge part of getting a nice complexion, but there´s so much more you should look out for.
I´ve listed the points that I found that have helped me to get a nice clear skin and then also a beautiful foundation finish:

Skincare

Logically a smooth complexion begins with a good working skincare routine. It feels like it took me ages until I´ve found skincare products that actually work for me. Ever since I´ve been around 14, I´ve been trying myself through so many different products, none really worked for me. Since around one year I´ve build a routine that works so well for me, that I often get asked which foundation I´m wearing, even though I´ve got nothing on besides powder, because my skin is so clear.
So basically what I´m using is the Garnier Micellar Water to take my makeup off, then to really clean my skin I use the PIXI Tonic, right now I´m using the Rose version, but I also really like the Glow version. I´m always so suprised by how dirty my skin still is after taking my makeup off - so I really recommend to reach for a tonic every evening, it makes a huge difference that´s even instantly noticeable! In the end I apply a thin layer of the Hello Body Night Cream, it´s sooo good! It´s quite thick but still sinks in really fast and gives a good amount of moisture. In the morning I use the Hello Body Day Cream, it feels a lot lighter and gives my skin a nice glow.

Prep & Prime

You could have the world´s best foundation, without a good working primer it just won´t look as good as it could or as you hope it would. Ever since I´ve started to wear more and more makeup, I´ve also started to try myself through many different primers, from drugstore ones to high-end ones. In my opinion a good primer can definitely cost a little more, because looking back now for examples the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer for around 5€ was absolutely horrible compared to the Benefit Porefessional for around 30€, which hid my pores so well and just gave me a nice and even complexion. I went through 3 tubes of the Benefit Primer before finding the NYX Angel Veil, which is by far the best I´ve tried. The consistency is a bit thicker, but it hides my pores without clogging them and costs only 16€. So it´s really trail and error with primers, but please never leave them out of your makeup routine. As there are so many different ones on the market, you´ll definitely find one that fills your needs. I prefer the ones that hide pores, but every now and then I also reach for those who give me a nice glow.

The Perfect Foundation

Speaking of the world´s best foundation, it´s so important to find one that´s just perfect for you!
First off you should check what skin type you are, oily, combination or dry and based on that you can go on the hunt through the huge selection of different foundations. I have combination skin that tends to dry skin so for me foundations with a semi-glow finish are the best. At the start I´ve also tried a matte foundation and quickly noticed that this kind is definitely not right for me. So again it´s really just trail and error. I often listen to recommendations from other bloggers but not even then every foundation is right for me, even though we have the same skin type, as every skin reacts different to the ingredients that are in each foundation. The best example was that I´ve tried the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, everyone loves and raves about it, it´s supposed to give a nice glowy finish, well I´ve tried it, it looked horrible and gave me lots of pimples - in the end I´ve used it three times before giving it away, sad but now I know that it´s just not something that works for me.

Blending

Everyone prefers a different kind of blending method or tool, but after trying several different brushes I´ve stuck with my beauty blender. It´s unbelievable how flawless it blends the foundation into your skin, like there are no patches or streaks, just an even complexion. Not only is it a lot faster and easier to blend everything out, you also don´t "lose" as much foundation as you do when working it in with a brush. I´m sure there are a few that are better to be worked in with a brush but for me my beauty blender is definitely my number one.

Set

Lastly we´ve got to make sure everything stays in place. I prefer to use pressed powders rather than loose ones, simply because I don´t like the feeling loose powders leave behind and also some of them give a white flashbacks when you take photos with the flash on. A little tip from my side is to use light brown powders, like the The Body Shop Honey Bronzer, rather than translucent ones. It just gives you a hint of colour which is especially good during the winter when the summer tan fades away. I´ve been doing that for about a year and I just like the finish so much better.
Often powders leave a light layer of powder particles behind, to get rid of these I use setting spray. Just be careful to not use too much as you don´t want anything creasing away, so 2-3 spritz are more than enough.

So that´s how I get an even foundation finish that I´m more than happy with and often get asked about.

Do you have any tips on how to get a smooth foundation finish?

Lately I have been experimenting more with my makeup again and have also watched more tutorials on Instagram or generally how other girls apply makeup, so of course my wish list got longer as well.
I have been using some products on my wish for a while and they really have become favorites, which I will certainly buy again and again, others looked so great on other girls that I absolutely need them now and again others are absolute new products, where I just already know that they will be amazing haha.

My Favorites

IT Cosmetics CC Cream

I've already tried several different foundations, but IT Cosmetic's CC Cream really beats them all. Although it is high coverage, it doesn't look cakey on the skin, rather the opposite - the skin looks more even and simply more beautiful. Redness, pores and blemishes are easily concealed without irritating the skin as this CC Cream contains hyaluronic acid, vitamins A, B, C and E among others. In addition, it has a SPF of 50+, so perfect for all year round!
I think there are 3 different versions of this CC Cream already. So far I've tried the original and the illumination one - I think the illumination is a bit too glowy for me, because when wearing it, I get the urge to apply more powder haha. The original is a perfect mix of Glow and Matt and therefore brings a very natural skin appearance.

Dior Diorshow Mascara

I had already talked about this mascara in a previous post, but again for everyone - it's absolutely awesome!
The Formula is enriched with microfibres and so gives your lashes extra length but at the same time also a lovely amount of volume. In my opinion it kinda looks like fake lashes when I have this mascara on. Another plus is the "Air-Lock" Brush, with this brush the mascara dries out more slowly than any other mascaras as there´s no way any air can get into the tube. Apparently this mascara is also used for the Dior Fashion Shows and if that doesn´t make you want to try it, I don´t know what will, haha.

Shiseido Controlled Chaos Mascara

Another great Mascara is the Controlled Chaos Mascara from Shiseido. I use it ever since my sample of the Dior Mascara is empty and it´s so hard to decide between these two! This one gives less volume, but makes my eyelashes so long, but without making them look like spider lashes. In addition, I don't even need an eyelash curler to get a nice curl, the mascara does that all by itself.
The Formula is a lot wetter, but if it's a bit dry, you can work with it very well.

Pixi Glow Tonic

An absolute classic! If you haven't tried Pixi's Glow Tonic yet, you should do so as soon as possible! At the beginning I couldn't imagine what would be different about it than about other tonics, but my skin has changed so positively since I use this product. The skin was on the one hand not so oily anymore, but had a healthy shine and on the other hand I hardly got any blemishes! It is so rare that I get pimples now. I always think I got most of my makeup off after using my beloved micellar water, but when I apply this tonic afterwards, so much more dirt and makeup gets of my skin, and so I can feel a huge difference immediately.
So I'm absolutely thrilled and can't say more about it than that everyone has to try it out!

BECCA Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder

Well, actually, loose powders aren't mine at all. I always find they feel really heavy and weird on the skin and clog my pores more than covering them - not to start with the white backflash that some loose powders give when pictures are taken with lightning - ugh!
But this loose powder from Becca consists of 50% water and glycerine, which gives the skin a kind of blur effect and therefore definitely sounds great. Because of the water mixture, the powder gives moisturize to the skin, so it doesn't crumble like some other powders. The color selection is now rather semi, but I think you should be able to work with it just fine to set your concealer properly.

Origins GinZing Tinted Moisturizer

I love Tinted Moisturizer! They always give a really beautiful natural shine and let the skin look more even. In summer, when I use makeup, I prefer them, because they are a lot better for the skin than normal makeup in the heat. With this one I'm even more sure it's a bomb, as the GinZing series is generally great. I used the Moisturizer myself once and was very happy with it.
The product matches itself to the skin tone and also protects the skin with a SPF 40.

Fenty Beauty

Meanwhile everyone says how lovely Fenty Beauty products are, but there are still a few people who have never tried anything - here I am!
To be honest, I am a bit overwhelmed with the selection, but a few products have already stood out for me due to many recommendations. On the one hand the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Girl Next Door / Chich Phreak - an absolute beautiful peach-coloured highlighter. I can imagine that it gives a wonderful touch of colour and freshness especially on light skin. I would also like to have the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Fenty Glow. This is an incredibly beautiful nude colored gloss that makes the lips look fuller and that can never hurt haha.
Last but not least I would like to have the Photoshop in the tube - the Pro Filt´r Longwear Foundation + the Pro Filt´r Primer. I saw this duo on a girl on Instagram once and it looked like Photoshop! Since she also posted InstaStories with this foundation, it really can only be the foundation that gave this incredible finish. I really need them!

Soon-to-be Favorites

Ardell Individual 3D-Lashes

I prefer individual lashes to classic fake eyelashes. For me they are easier to apply and I can always decide for myself how many I want where, or where I want to put the accents. So far I only have very natural lashes from KISS, but recently 3D Individual Lashes from Ardell came out and my heart was beating faster! When I still had my eyelash extension, I always had 3D lashes, so with those from Ardell I could theoretically get exactly the same look again, so I'm really looking forward to trying them out soon.

Coach Blush ParfĂ¼m

Since I discovered Coach's perfumes, I don't use any others. The two previous versions, Classic and Floral, smell so pleasant and hold so well without being too heavy in the nose. So when I saw at a beauty fair that another new version was released, I was very happy! Of course I tried it right away and it is my favourite fragrance of all three versions. It doesn't smell as flowery as the floral, but still very feminine and fresh. The ingredients here are grapefruit, goji berry, peach and peony, among others, so it doesn't get any better than that.
As soon as my current perfume is empty, I´ll buy it.

Beach Holiday Favourites
This year I spent my summer vacation in Crete.
Pure sun, beautiful sandy beach, good food and drinks, new impressions and every day about 30 degrees - an absolute dream!
I am completely honest, of course I try to take care of my skin and hair anyway, but in the heat sometimes more than a quick bun and a simple facial care is not possible. Now, in hindsight, I think it may have been because of the products I used mostly - or the combination of products.
For the holidays I want to have a quick and easy routine that I can stick to.

This year I have finally discovered some really good products and I would like to show them to you now.

Hair

Davines Oi Oil

I have relatively thick, long hair, which also likes to puff up in high heat or humidity. Therefore I take great care not to heat them up during my holidays and therefore rarely use straightening irons or curling irons, the highest of all feelings is drying with a hairdryer. As care for this I use the GHD heat protection spray and the Davines Oi Oil.
I first became aware of this brand at a blogger event, and I haven't gotten away from it since. The Oi series is really awesome!
I put the oil into the towel-dried hair before I start blow-drying. About 2-3 pumpers are enough for the complete length of my hair.
The main ingredient is Roucou oil - this has a restructuring effect on the hair, supports growth, protects against UV rays and gives an anti-frizz effect without weighing down the hair. The anti-frizz effect is particularly important for me - there are holiday pictures there you would think I have a bird's nest on my head haha - well, that's not what I'm looking for now, and this oil makes my hair very smooth, soft and smells so pleasant too.

So really very recommendable!

During the day a simple sun protection oil or spray is not enough, so I like to use this leave-in cream. In the beginning I had doubts whether such a cream would make my hair look greasy, but this is not the case at all. The cream absorbs super fast and is hardly noticeable afterwards.
This product protects the hair from drying out due to heat, sunlight AND chlorine, mega or? Therefore it should always be reapplied after swimming. The main ingredients here are coconut and olive oils, so it smells great and especially summery. Apart from protecting my hair, it has also given it so much moisture, so it was so much easier to brush through them throughout the day and also style it in the evening, therefore it also looked a lot better and more smooth.
It is really the first sun protection product that convinced me, that I liked to use and that will be my faithful friend for trips to the lake or generally in everyday life in summer.
I found it by chance at TKMaxx for 5€, so it's worth to have a look there, but it should also be available at Boots.

Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Body Butter

I'm quite honest, I'm usually too lazy to apply cream after every shower, but what I like even less is when the skin slowly comes off and the tan becomes less and less. So far I have mostly used After Sun Body Lotions, which are more watery and therefore, in my opinion, don't really provide much moisture in the long run - which was probably also the reason why I didn´t like to use them.
This body butter, on the other hand, is, as the name suggests, very creamy!
It is very easy to spread, you really only need a small amount, it´s very moisturizing and smells sooo good of coconut and vanilla.
These little white skin scraps, which stick everywhere quickly after your holiday, went away quite easily with this body butter and, most importantly, stayed away.

In the meantime we have already bought the second tin and won't change to any other body butter/cream/lotion so quickly, haha.

Caudalie Sun Oil

In my opinion one gets tanned much faster and more beautifully with sun oil.
Normally I use one from the drugstore, but this year it was time for a branded product, and I must say I am absolutely thrilled!
This oil smells abnormally good because it contains ingredients like grape seed oil and frangipani flower, so it smells very fresh and summery!
This dry oil can be rubbed in very well and absorbs mega quickly. I hate it when you have oily hands after oiling and then can't touch anything, that's not the case here at all - even the body skin is not oily or greasy at all after application!
It has a SPF of 30 and although I am a really light skin type, I didn't have any problems with sunburn here, of course you should take it slowly but it worked really well from the beginning on. I also got a lot of compliments that I never came back so tanned from my holidays, and that has to mean something hahaha.
What I think is really very cool is that Caudalie doesn't use any ingredients of animal origin and the formula of this sun oil has a high biodegradability and therefore also protects the sea world - really amazing, I haven't heard about any other product I've used so far.

Maria Galland After Sun Maske

I love face masks. By now there are a lot of After Sun masks but this one from Maria Galland really tops everyone!
You probably all know that when you get red cheeks from the sun and your skin is a little tight and dry - that was the case with me and then I tried this mask.
Within a very short time, the redness and tension was gone!
The mask cools very much and feels super comfortable, I leave it on for about 20 minutes and even after washing off a light film remains on the skin and thus still provides some moisture afterwards.
This mask has an anti-aging effect and maintains melanin production, which intensifies the tan even more and keeps it longer. Ingredients include aloe vera, green tea extract and jojoba oil, so you can't go wrong.

I will definitely buy this product again and again!

Maybelline City Bronzer & Becca Highlighter

I keep my makeup to a minimum on vacation. I also like to use the holiday time to give my skin a break and I generally find that you automatically get a natural glow and a beautiful complexion during the holiday, which makes most makeup products no longer necessary.
Since I still had my eyelash extension this holiday, I didn't need a mascara, so all I used occasionally was the BECCA highlighter in Opal to bring an extra freshness to my face. I've had this highlighter for a really long time and love it so much, the shine is really strong so I don't use much for a relatively natural look.
To support my teint a little bit and to give my face some contour, I recently started using the Maybelline City Bronzer in Medium Cool. For a drugstore Bronzer it is very good - the pigmentation is perfect to build up and it can be easily blended.

Now and then I also used a lip gloss or just a tinted lip care.

What are your summer favourites? Have you maybe already tried some of mine?

3 To Try: Eye Makeup
For someone who just can´t master a sharp contour - and probably never will - and also has quite thin lips, I like to concentrate more on my eyes when going for a full makeup look. Everything from brows, to eyeshadow, to lashes is something I´m willing to invest in cause I find it makes a huge difference to my whole appearance and honestly it´s just so much fun to get creative with different eyeshadows, trying to accomplish that perfect wing and make your lashes as long and fluttery as possible. I put together 4 products that I use on a daily basis and don´t ever stop using...

Model Co. Brow Pencil

My brows look already pretty okay without doing anything to them, but I still like to fill the few spare areas in, to perfect and sharpen them. For this I prefer a triangle shaped pencil like this one, over a powder or pomade by far! It is just the perfect shade for me, not overly pigmented but buildable - which I find is really important as sometimes I just want a soft brow look and sometimes I like to go full in and make them as sharp as possible - and because of the shape it takes me like a minute to fill my brows in. It´s a product you can take on the go with you, as on one side you get the product and on the other side a spoolie brush - all you need for a quick touch up.
3 To Try: Eye Makeup

Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion

Another "issue" that I have to deal with are overly oily lids.
It´s impossible for me to wear eyeshadow without any primer underneath, as after a while it´ll just crease away in the ugliest way possible, haha. So to prevent that I´ve been trying through some drugstore eyeprimers which never really did a perfect job. I decided to treat myself to the infamous Primer Potion from Urban Decay. It has been my favourite for a very long time now. It not only keeps my eyemakeup in place but also intensifiies the colours and when worn on it´s own, evens out the colours on my lids - cause I also got quite veiny eyelids haha.
What I also absolutely adore about it is, that the applicator is like a concealer applicator, so you can just swipe it all over your lid and blend it in with a beauty blender. Even though I have it since quite a long time now, I still have like half the tube left, so totally worth investing in if you have the same problems with keeping eyeshadow in place.

HD Eyeshadow Palette

My go-to everyday eyeshadow palette is this one. It´s got exactly the shades I like to wear on my eyes, earthy browns and champagne-y glittery shades.
The shades all have just the right amount of pigmentation, even the glittery shades comes off just as it is in the palette. The brush that comes with it is suprisingly also very good - on one side you got a quite stiff blending brush and on the other side you got a kinda liner brush that I like to use with the darkest shade on my lash line instead of actual eyeliner.
It´s definitely a palette you can wear all year round, the darker browns shades in the colder months and the rosĂ© gold/champagne colour during the spring to add a hint of colour and sparkle.

The Spring Edit
Now that we have around 20 degree or hotter every day, it was definitely time to switch some of my everyday winter staples to something lighter, more glowy and fresher.
As much as I love to use a good bronzer, for spring I tend to use a nice pinky blush. I just love how it makes me look really fresh, healthy and so spring-y, haha.
Of course I´ve not only switched to blush but also made some changes in my base, lips and skincare picks....

Dr. Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil

Before I apply makeup I make sure my skin is hydrated and plump. On days where my skin doesn´t need an intensive moisturizer I like to reach for a facial oil like this one from Dr. Botanicals.
It´s not a thick heavy oil that sits on my face for a long time. It´s texture is more watery, and sinks in within seconds. My face not only feels really lovely afterwards, but also smells heavenly like roses - consider that when you have sensitive skin - and is left with a glowy sheen on it. I feel like this oil is more likely one of those dry oils, as unlike other facial oils, this one doesn´t leave a thin film or anything on my face so I can continue with my makeup routine right away.
The only thing on the minus side of this product is that I do need half of the pipette for my whole face and as the bottle itself is not that big, I did run out of it quite quick.
But as I already said I only use this when my skin is already in a good condition and for that it´s perfectly fine to treat yourself to!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation + Catrice Galactic Highlighter Drops

I´ve seen lots of girls adding drops of highlighter into their foundation to make the finish of it more glowy and so I was on the hunt to find a highlighter that had a pipette so I could mix it easily into my foundation and so try it out myself. I went for the Galactic Drops from Catrice as I thought go big or go home and what could be more glowy than a galactic glow haha. It´s a white, quite glittery glow that I find is a bit too light when I wear it on its own, but mixed into my foundation it adds just the perfect amount of glow.
Speaking of foundation, my go-to is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. I already loved the Perfect Match Foundation a lot and since everyone recommened the Wake Me Up Foundation I just add to pick it up when I was in London. I can absolutely understand the love for this product! It feels really nice and light on my skin even though the coverage is quite strong. It´s the only foundation that I own that stays matte throughout the whole day.
Those two mixed together give me a really natural, glowy base!

The Spring Edit

NYX Worth The Hype Mascara

New Mascaras are always either hit or miss. I´m always searching for one that gives my lashes extra length but also a bit more volume. The main thing I´m concentrating on though is length and so when I saw this NYX Mascara all over my Instagram and absolutely loved the finishes of them!
Now that all 5 mascaras - yes I switched between 5 mascaras - ran out at once I knew now was finally the time I got to try it out. The name of the product speaks for itself - this mascara is so worth the hype! My lashes just look soo lovely, long and it also makes my eyes look so defined - love it!

PIXI Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey + HypoAllergenic Creamy Rouge Glow Stick

Now we´re finally coming to my favourite step in my makeup routine - blush!
I currently have two absolute favourites. The blush duo from PIXI combines a gorgeous champagne-y highlighter with a light pink blush. To apply that I like to use a big fluffy brush, swirl it over both powders and then put it on top of my cheekbones. It gives me an instant quite natural glow.
When I like to go for only a intensive pink blush though I switch to the blush stick from HypoAllergenic. You can see the colour of it in the swatch below - it´s a really stunning, kinda rose gold pink shade that gives me a really natural hint of colour.
When I apply it I like to draw crosses with it on the apples of my cheeks and up my cheekbones and then just blend it in with my beauty blender.
The texture of it is really creamy, the colour is definitely buildable - absolutely in love with it so I use it almost every single day!
The Spring Edit

PIXI LipLift Max in Honey Sheen + Manhattan Cosmetics Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Rosefeller Center

As much as I love a berry lip, for spring I switch to rosy nude shades.
I recently found this Manhattan liquid lipstick and the colour Rosefeller Center is honestly one of the most gorgoeus shades in my whole collection. It´s like a deep pink shade, and has a kinda orange undertone which makes it look absolutely lovely on my lips! Even though it´s a matte liquid lipstick, it feels super comfortable and lightweight when it has dried down, kinda velvety - like I barely feel that I have it on, which I find really nice, haha.
I either wear it on its own or I add a sparkly lipgloss on top for a nice shine!
I don´t own a lot of lipglosses for some reason but honestly I´m perfectly fine with only using the LipLift Max from PIXI. Not only does it have a stunning honey colour but it also smells really minty.
The mint scent is also the reason why it actually gives your lips a little lift and make them look and feel plumper. It´s not sticky at all but still stays on my lips throughout the day.

What are your spring picks? Do you prefer a heavy or more natural makeup look?

City Break Makeup & Skincare Bag
City Break Makeup & Skincare Bag
I absolutely love city breaks, discovering cities, doing some typical tourist stuff, eating new food, etc. just everything about a small getaway is total up my street.
This time I´m traveling to London (again) and I´m super excited. I just love this city so much and now that more and more bloggers share their favourite photo spots I, of course can´t help it and plan some of those spots into my schedule aswell.
To prepare my skin and look flawless for that upcoming shooting I tried to narrow down my collection to the best and long lasting products....

Makeup

My base needs to stay in place even better than on any other days, as we´ll be on the go all day and we´ll take lots of pictures and so I want to feel as comfortable and confident in my look as possible. For primer I´m taking the ThisWorks In Transit Camera Close-Up Primer with me, it gets quite sticky when it has sunk in, but doesn´t really have a thick consistency, so I won´t be getting the problems of getting blemishes cause my pores are blocked - happens too quick sometimes, haha.
I love glowy skin, especially the difference it makes on pictures. Right now I really like using the
L´Oreal Perfect Match Foundation, it has a medium coverage, is still really lightweight and blends in beautifully with a beauty blender. I hate to say it, but you get that "my skin but better" effect when blending this foundation in with a beauty blender. To brighten the area under my eyes I´ll take the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer with me. Not only does it sit really well and looks really natural when it´s blended in, but it´s also nearly empty so I might replace it while going shopping haha. To set everything I´ll use my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder, I´ve recently rediscovered it and absolutely love using it now. It gives that flawless, even finish that I absolutely adore. Seriously after gently pressing it on - instead of swiping it all over - I can´t see a single pore or blemish.

I don´t do much for my brows lately, I´m glad when they look full and kind of in a good shape, so the easiest and quickest way to fill in my brows is by using the Smashbox BrowTech To-Go. I´ve been using it for such a long time now, already repurchased it and I´m pretty sure it wasn´t the last time. Because of it´s triangle shape and waxy highly pigmented consistency, it makes it really easy to get your brows in a good shape and evenly filled in. The gel that is also included on the other side of the pen is amazing. It keeps my brow hair in place but doesn´t make them feel stiff.
The only thing that is missing now are my lashes. My talented self has used every sample of mascars that I owned, up so now I´m left to use one of my older, nearly empty mascaras. Atleast one of my absolute favourites for long lashes is still half way full. The L´Oreal Telescopic Mascara is amazing for getting the long lashes effect. It´s super simple to use, holds a curl wonderfully and leaves my lashes still feeling soft and lightweight - I absolutely hate those mascaras that makes lashes feel really hard and as if they would break any minute...

Finishing off the whole look I put a bit of highlighter on. I haven´t been a big fan of cream highlighter before, but since trying the Sleek Strobe Dome I love the wet highlighter look it can give you. I always do three swipes with it and then blend it in with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

For lips I decided on a really simple, rosy liquid lipstick. The Manhattan Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick in Rosefeller Center is that kind of "my lips but better shade" - oh well now I´ve used this phrase twice already... - even though it´s matte, it feels really comfortable and not dry at all.
The lasting power though, is absolutely amazing! It stays on no matter what I do, so perfect for a day out and about.

That´s it for my makeup. I don´t take a lot with me, as I know myself pretty well and will most likely purchase some new makeup bits and bobs...

Skincare

Deciding on skincare to take with me is even harder than deciding on makeup products.
Simply because - please tell me I´m not the only one - I feel like exactly in these few days I´m away I might feel the need to use products that I haven´t used in months. Products like overnight masks, facial oils, etc. I try to go through my daily skincare routine in my head and so only pack the products that I use everyday. I still feel like it´s quite a big selection but I really need all of it - I swear.
Starting by removing my makeup, I fill my favourite Garnier Micellar Water, into a little bottle so that it fits into the max. of 100ml that I´m allowed to take with me - this is honestly the part that makes packing so much harder than it already is, haha.
Now that my face is bare I apply a good amount of the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. This moisturizer is a total bargain with 10 pounds for a tube that has lasted me a good 4 months now. It´s extremely thick, yet sinks in fast and pretty much smells like nothing. Probably the reason why it has cleared and still keeps my skin lovely clear. On top of this night cream I put my eye cream, the Clinique Pep Start Eyecream. I´ve put a full review here which you can check out after reading this post ;) No but honestly, it´s a gel textured cream, it feels very fresh and I find it has evened out the skin tone of my under eye area and kinda made it look healthly plump and so I look more awake.
The last step I do before going to sleep is applying the Revitalash Eyelash Conditioner, if you want long, darker, fluttery lashes, you should definitely invest in it! I had really short, barely visible lashes before using it and now after applying mascara, my lashes go up to my brow bone and stay curled - without using a lash curler before. That´s it with my night skincare products.
In the morning I only use the Clinique Moisture Surge. It´s a fab moisturizer! Even though it´s gel-based, it still feels quite thick but sinks in incredibly fast, is really hydrating and blurs my skin out especially the area where my pores are the biggest.
