A Casual Night Out Makeup
A Casual Night Out Makeup
I love a good night out! Sometimes I´m very motivated to get dressed, do my hair and a full face makeup, but sometmes I prefer to do a more casual look. Don´t get me wrong, it definitely contains more products than my everyday makeup, but I surely won´t attract attention to me, because of the way I put myself together that night.
I hope you get what I mean, haha, and enjoy this little makeup edit...

As always I used the Benefit The POREfessional Primer to prep my skin and give myself a smooth complexion to work with. Over that I used a sample of the Burberry Fresh Glow Liquid Base, just to give my skin a bit of natural glow before I applied one of the highest coverage foundations I own on top, and that is the MAC Studio Fix. It is the very first foundation that I´m close to using fully up, I basically only have foundation for 4-5 applications left, that´s how much I love it. It covers literally every blemish, without drying your skin completely out. I wouldn´t recommend it, if you have dry skin as you will see spot where skin is flaking off, but if you have oily/combination skin, this is yours to try! Since mostly every blemish is now covered, I only use the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, an absolute favourite of mine. It is medium coverage and blends in absolutely lovely. To set the concealer and foundation I used the MAC MSF Powder, I literally use it every single day, as it´s pressed so finely that it keeps shine at bay, without being very visible. Now that I´m still pale, I use the NARS Laguna Bronzer, to not only bring a bit of life to my skin, but also give it a bit of a shape.
A Casual Night Out Eyemakeup
Moving to the eyes, the look above is the one I went to and to make it last the whole night I firstly prepeared my eyelids with the UD Original Eyeprimer Potion, to those who suffer with oily eyelids, and creasing eyeshadow, this one will change your eyemakeup game! Then I stayed loyal to Urban Decay for nearly the whole rest, all my eyeshadows were from the Naked 2 Palette. Tease in the crease, Snakebite also in the crease but applied with a smaller denser brush, and then Copper all over the lid. It was pretty much a smokey brown look, and I really liked it!. Then to open my small eyes again, I put the NYX WonderPencil on my lower lashline. It´s a creamy nude pencil, which is just perfect for applying that way, as when you have small eyes like I, this pencil helps to make the whole look softer and your eyes bigger. To finish up the eyes, I used the L´Oreal Telescopic Mascara, by far my favourite mascara, and the Smashbox BrowTech To-Go to achieve defined sharp brows. To make sure everything stays in place the whole night, I spray the NYX Matte Finish Fixing Spray on and I´m good to go... :)
I left lipstick away on purpose, cause to be honest there´s nothing worse than having to worry about the state of your lipstick, when you just want to enjoy a few drinks with your friends.

Liquid Glow Givers
Liquid Glow Givers
Summer is the season for everything glowy, and if you have followed my blog for a while now, you may have noticed some posts dedicated to that specific makeup look.
Now, I want to concentrate on "glow givers" that are either not makeup related products, but also one that can be used so versatile, that it will definitely not leave my makeup bag for a while now...

BENEFIT SUN BEAM HIGHLIGHTER

Lately this highlighter has become one of my absolute favourite products in my whole collection. Simply because the shade is just perfect for summer, a light hint of champagne glow with a bit of glitter in it, is so versatile to use. You can either mix it with your foundation, use it as it´s original purpose, as a highlighter or you can just apply a bit of it to your eyelids to give yourself a glowy glittery eyemakeup. I haven´t tried it yet, but after I get a nice tan on my holidays, I´ll even use this highlighter on my collarbones, as I imagine it will look absolutely stunning and flattering when you´re wearing a off-shoulder top. You will definitely see me wearing this product very often from now on...

NUXE HUILE PRODIGIEUSE OR

Speaking of flattering glowy collarbones, I have something here that is completely new to me. It´s a dry oil that you can use literally everywhere, face, body and even in your hair.
I haven´t tried anything with this product yet, but after swatching it once, and seeing how pigmented yet still natural it is, and how interesting a dry oil is, I have done some research. Well all you do is massage this oil into the wanted body parts and when you move into the light, little golden glitter particles will make your skin all glowy.
I find this concept really cool and I feel like it will get used a lot during my summer holiday.

CLARINS HUILE LOTUS FACE TREATMENT OIL

Before we even start with putting tons of highlighters on our faces, we need to start preping and hydrating our skin so we already have a radiant base to work with.
I´m already on my second bottle of this Face Treatment Oil from Clarins, even though I don´t use it in my daily evening routine. This facial oil is really thick and you only need half of the pipette to get a good amount of product, I simply put this on at night when my skin is nearly spot free and only needs a minimum hydration and wake up to a lovely glowy base. An extra to this product is the smell, it smells of citrus fruits and lotus and so it´s just perfect for summer!

What do you use to get that natural glow?

I´m sure we can all relate on the point that we sometimes are willing to sit down for atleast an hour and try our best to compliment our best face features and sometimes we just feel like we couldn´t care less and just put enough makeup on to look atleast presentable.
I´ve felt the second way a lot lately so I thought I would show you all what products I use to get ready in 5 minutes but still looking like I´ve atleast tried not to look absolutely horrible.

The Benefit Porefessional Primer is my absolute holy-grail product and I´m more than sure nothing will ever beat it. I apply a small amount of it around my pores and chin, so basically where my pores are the biggest. My skin looks a lot smoother instantly.
To hide those horrendous dark under eye area I use one of my favourite concealers at the moment, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 10. I apply three strokes of it under each eye and blend it in with the Real Techniques Contour Brush, this duo works wonders! While I blend it in, I also like to go over my eyelids with the brush to even the skin out there aswell.
For brows I use the Smashbox BrowTech in Taupe. On one side you´ve got the waxy brow pencil with whom you can either only fill in spare areas or go for a full brow. After your brows are even you´ve also got a fixing gel on the other side of the pencil, which keeps my brows in place pretty good without making them feel krispy.
A bit of length- and volume-adding mascara like the L´Oreal False Lash Architect Mascara and you´re good to go. I once randomly grabbed this mascara at the drugstore and I´m really suprised by how good it is!
Now since we haven´t seen the sun for quite a while it´s time to add some colour with the help of the Makeup Revolution Contour Palette. You can decide between 3 different brown shades, depending on how much colour you need to look alive again (trust me, I should probably go for the darkest shade). A bit of the highlighter aswell and you´re almost done.
Since we haven´t applied foundation, I don´t see the need to add powder but rather a lighter refreshing setting spray like the NYY Matte Finish Setting Spray. It sinks in really fast, smells quite good and definitely keeps the few products on my face in place.

What are your 5-minute-makeup products?

Benefit The POREfessional
Primer has become an important part in my daily makeup routine.
It can give you the most beautiful flawless finish, if you use the right one.
I´ve tried a couple ones over the last few months, from nearly the whole price range, means from drugstore primers to highstreet ones.
Some have completely failed on me and some were okay/good. One has gone beyond my expectations though, and is for sure gonna stay in my makeup collection for a very long time.

The one I´m talking about here, is the Benefit The POREfessional.
It´s by far my absolute favourite primer ever, as it fills every wish I have and leaves my makeup looking gorgeous.
You all probably know that product but for those who don´t, it an oil-free, colour-free cream primer that contains Vitamine D, and should hide all your pores and fine lines and also keep your makeup in place the whole day.
Benefit The POREfessional Texture
As you can see from the picture above, it´s a kinda beige cream that feels thick before working it into your skin. Once you tap or spread it over your T-Zone, it adapts really well into the skin, is easy to blend, gets invisible and you´ll also not feel it anymore.
After applying foundation on top you´ll see that this primer works wonders!
I have the hugest pores around my nose and they dissapear completely!
Now you could think, because of the finish, my pores get cloged but that´s not at all what happens, this product only fills them in and gets removed completely out of them when you take your makeup off in the evening. I never got any pimples because of this primer.
It also helps my makeup to stay in place for quite a good while, and keeps excess oil at bay as good as possible. With a dewy foundation I do need to re-powder my T-Zone, but with a matte foundation everything still looks presentable in the evening.

Benefit says for a softer flawless look, simply apply the POREfessional before and after your makeup, which I definitely need to try and report back to you.

With a price of 35€, it is for sure on the more expensive side, but so worth it. I´ve already purchased it two times which rarely happens as this tube lasts me a good few months and in that time span I normally find a product that I like more, but this primer is just perfection!

What is your favourite primer? Have you tried the Benefit POREfessional? What are your thoughts on it?

6 Products Forgotten in My Makeup Drawer

6 Products Forgotten in My Makeup Drawer 2
We all know that time when we buy new makeup products, love them and promise ourselves that we´re never gonna use anything else than this product.
For some reason though I always come to the point where I buy a different version of the said product and totally forget about my "absolute favourite" and leave it at the back of my drawer.

Makeup Favourites 2016
It´s officialy the end of 2016 since about 14 hours now.
Looking back at it, I (re)discovered some absolutely amazing makeup products that I will probably use throughout 2017 aswell.
It was hard to narrow my complete collection down, but I´ve done it and can say that these makeup products kept me good looking the whole year :)
I´m excited to see what I will discover in the new year but for now these were my favourite of 2016...
The Primer Tag Flatlay 1
Primer is a huge topic in my eyes. At this moment there are sooo many on the market, all from different price ranges and all with a different aim.
Some promise to hide your pores, some give you a matte or glowy finish and some are just there to make your base products stick to your face all day.

What´s On My Face: April 2016
What´s On My Face: April 2016
How is it already May? Time has flown sooo quick and so it´s again time for another post of my "What´s On My Face" series, in which I show you every month what makeup products I have worn throughout the past month. April was a month with a lot of weather strangeness, at the beginning it was still very cold, then towards the middle all of sudden it turned very warm with temperatures upto 20 degress or more and now towards the end we even had snow again, like what? How is my skin supposed to keep with that?
I found it was reason enough to keep going with my minimalistic makeup look and only add some spring-y colours in it here and there :)

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara & the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara; Smashbox BrowTech To Go & NYX Micro Brow Pencil; Maybelline Baby Skin & Benefit The Porefessional Primer
Running out of your favourite products is a really horrible experience, but running out of high end products that you once got as a treat for yourself is something I don´t want anyone to experience (okay I´m being a little dramatic here). Anyway hitting pan or emptying your favourite products calls for starting the hunt for the ultimate similar that will hopefully be just as good as the "original" or is even better, but just for a fraction of the price.
I collected 3 products that I (nearly) ran out of and think I found quite good similars of (I upgraded on one product but you´ll see in a minute).

flatlay, loose powder, makeup sponge, monthly makeup, beauty, makeup, german makeup, american beauty, blending, baking
flatlay, close up, porefessional primer, makeup brush, bb cream,
Another month is over, so it´s again time to show you what I´ve been wearing around on my face throughout the month of march.
If you have seen the other two monthly makeup posts you might have noticed that my bases get lighter and lighter with a lot less coverage. I like to keep my looks very simple as I only mainly go to school and therefor don´t really need to pack on a full makeup look.
I would describe this month´s look as minimalistic, light and glowy.
Easter Makeup Flatlay
Easter Makeup Close Up 1
Easter Makeup Close Up 2
Happy Easter everybody! I had the last week off which wasn´t as relaxing as you might think it was, basically it was lots of revision and no make up at all.
So now that it is easter I took it as a great opportunity to put on a full face, but not in a full coverage heavy foundation but more a lightweight glowy base, lots of highlighter and some pink details.
Night-Out Proof Makeup Look
Night-Out Proof Makeup Look 1
Night-Out Proof Makeup Look 2
Another week is over and we can all now concentrate on the probably most important question that pops up every Friday and/or Saturday night, where is the next big party and how can I look the best?
Going out or especially going to a club can get really sweaty, lots of people in the same room and dancing like you don´t care (be honest, we all do) is never a good combo, however for some weird reason people want to take pictures when you already feel like your make up is gone or doesn´t look picture worthy anymore and your forehead could be used as a reflector, am I right?
4 All Time Favourite Mascaras
Bobbi Brown, Maybelline, Benefit Mascaras
Mascara has to be one of my favourite makeup items. Simply because it can completely change the way your makeup looks! Remember how scary it looks when you´re done filling in your brows and it looks like you took a sharpie and drew on two thick lines? Mascara evens that out and moves the attention from your brows to your eyes, that look a lot bigger and even better ,if I´m allowed to say so, with the right mascara.
We all know how many different mascaras there are on the market, and they all have different purposes, voluminous lashes, longer lashes, spider lashes, etc.
I tested a good amount of different ones and have now picked my 4 all time favourites that I would immediatly pick up again.
I´m lazy. That´s just how it is and I really do not have a problem with that fact about me. I like to keep things really simple and doable without much effort sometimes. I still get my stuff done in time and completely fine so why change that? Haha :)
Even though I do like to spend a good hour while applying my makeup for the day/night, there are some days where I would rather use my time with spending some extra minutes in bed, and only want to use those things that don´t need a lot of extra steps but still look good!
After a one month pause, I´m finally back and I´m starting with a new series that I came up with! It´s called "Save or Splurge" and I will introduce you to a more pricey and a budget friendly version of several makeup products, today I´ll start with PRIMERS :)

The two primers that I want to compare are The Body Shop´s Instablur and Benefit´s The POREfessional :)

The prices of these primers are quite far apart, The Body Shop´s with 15€ is only half the price of Benefit´s with 33€!
One thing that definitely doesn´t justify the price of The POREfessional is that this primer only contains 22ml, unlike Instablur which contains 25ml, which is a lot of product compared to the price difference.

The Body Shop Instablur Primer is said to control shine for 12h, reduce the appearance of pores, hides blemishes, unifydes complexion and extendes makeup. From my own experience I can say that 3 1/2 of 5 of their promises are true, it reduces my pores, unifydes the complexion and makes my makeup extend, it definitely controls my shine but not for 12h! It doesn´t hide blemishes at all, but that´s what concealer is here for, isn´t it ;)
Its texture is realy velvety and great to blend, it also gives your skin that velvety and soft finish. You should let it sink in for some time though, that way it´s easier to blend your foundation in.

Benefit´s The POREfessional promises to quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines, complementes all skin tones because of it´s oil-free formula, help your makeup stay put and to protect your skin from free radicals because of its vitamin E derivative. For this primer I can say that all of their promises are true. My skin looks absolutely flawless when I wear this primer! My hugest pores are on my cheeks along my nose and after I apply this primer they are GONE! It controls shine, needs a bit of help from face powders anyway.
Its texture looks heavy compared to TBS´s but it´s lightweight once blended into your skin, also the colour of this primers won´t be seen after you have blended it in, so don´t worry about that :)

THE RESULT: SAVE
Both primers help you with that flawless skin, and even though the POREfessional is better at reducing pores, the Body Shop´s is a really good dupe version that you can more likely repurchase everytime without having to think twice.
But if you want to treat yourself than go for Benefit´s the POREfessional!
