6 Products Forgotten in My Makeup Drawer

6 Products Forgotten in My Makeup Drawer 2
We all know that time when we buy new makeup products, love them and promise ourselves that we´re never gonna use anything else than this product.
For some reason though I always come to the point where I buy a different version of the said product and totally forget about my "absolute favourite" and leave it at the back of my drawer.

So that´s why I came up with the conclusion to be more aware of the stuff I have and their quality. I´m gonna try to use some products up before buying new stuff, which will be pretty hard but that way I´m not only gonna stop wasting money but also clear out my makeup stash.
The following makeup products are the ones I´m gonna start using up first...

SETTING SPRAY

The NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray (8€), is actually a quite good one seeing as it is from the drugstore. Even though the finished look will be quite dewy instead of matte like it is supposed to be, it still does a really good job in keeping your makeup set in place. It has a very natural scent and sinks in rather fast. The reason why I´ve stopped using it, after using half a bottle up, was because I´m often too lazy to think of spraying a setting spray on but that will definitely stop now, haha.

NAIL POLISH

Nail Polish has always been a topic I´m sometimes absolutely obsessed with and can´t imagine now wearing it anymore, or I´m too lazy to even pick a colour and am lucky enough if I even file my nails to an acceptable shape. But as I just said I love how nice my nails look when I´m actually wearing nail polish, so hopefully my favourite ones, the Essie Demure Vix (8€) (a nude tone with a metallic undertone) & Angora Cardi (8€) (a brown/red tone) and the H&M Mauve it (5€) (a mauve/purple shade) are perfect shades to wear throught the whole year and are also wearable to the office. Besides looking good, wearing nail polish also holds back my need to chew on my nails when I´m bored or stressed.

LIQUID BROW GEL

Most of the time I really struggle with getting my brows in a shape that is actually a good one, not too thin but also not too thick and drawn on, to prevent both of these things I´ve been reaching for my very loved SmashBox Brow Pencil. Everything comes to an end though, and it soon will be time to search for an replacement for it, the WunderBrow Brow Gel in Brunette* (30€) was the first thing I thought would give me the most similar finish. It´s a bit more tricky to use this liquid gel but once you get the hang of how much to use and stuff like that, you can really count on this product (full review here).

LIQUID HIGHLIGHTERS

Brow Bone Highlighter has been something I haven´t paid any attention to, besides when I went for a complete eyemakeup look. The KIKO Brow Bone Highlighter Pen (6€) will hopefully change that. It is double sided, with a champagne toned highlighter on one end and a more yellow-y  shade on the other side, they are really nice to blend and super pigmented, back in the days when I used to wear it more often I really loved using it.
I´ve fallen completely for the strobing trend, a nice and glowy complexion can make such a different to your whole look and makes you look a lot more healthier and just happier.
I prefer to use a powder or stick highlighter, but rarely a liquid highlighter.
Sadly because the Benefit Sun Beam Highlighter (27€) is absolutely beautiful, but so far I haven´t worked out how to apply it properly to really get the full pigmentation out of it and just make it look as beautiful as a powder highlighter.

CONTOURING

It´s still a miracle for me how some people can actually make their face look more defined by only using a brown powder, I have decided I´ll actually put some effort into getting behind this miracle. With the help of the Zoeva Luxe Face Paint brush I definitely have a good brush that is making it easier to find and shadow my cheekbones. My favourite contour palette that is not only incredibly pigmented and really easy to blend is the Makeup Revolution Contour Palette (12€). It holds 3 contour shades, 3 setting powders and 2 highlighters, all for every kind of skin tone. I´m still amazed by the quality you get for such a low price! This palette makes experimenting with contouring a lot of fun and the shades can definitely also work as bronzers.
