As much as I love a nude lip, I try to reach for bold lipsticks more often in the summer time. I like to bring a switch into my seasonal looks and a bright pink lip together with tanned skin is my favourite look in the summer, even though the tanned skin part does take me a whole lot longer, haha.
Nevertheless I´ve searched 5 pink lipsticks together, in which some are more natural and some are really bright!
MAC`s Angel
This lipstick is more on the natural pink side. It´s from the Satin Finish Collection and has a beautiful slightly glittery, sheer finish. The colour is a beautiful deep pink shade, that fits to literally every makeup look. It feels very comfortable on the lips and stays put for a long time! I love to wear this lipstick during the week to work when I don´t wear that much makeup and just want a hint of colour...
MAC`s Créme Cup
Another natural lipstick is this one from MAC. Compared to the shade Angel, Créme Cup is a whole lot lighter and reminds me of a more barbie pink shade. It also contains a lot more glitter. I find it´s one of those lipsticks that fits a lot better with pale skin, as with tanned skin I think it would make your lips stand out a lot and that would probably look unnatural, so embrace this lipstick as long as you´re still pale, haha.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Pencil
By far my favourite pink lip option at the moment is this lip pencil!
I absolutely love the dark dusty rose of it, and even though it´s a natural shade it´s still very pigmented and I would definitely call it a bright summer option. Apart from the shade, it is also lovely to apply, as the texture of the pencil is really soft and velvet-y. It stays on my lip for such a long time without wearing off, not even a bit. Because of that it has also quickly become my go-to product for a night out as I don´t have to worry about re-applying it any time soon.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo
If this shade doesn´t straight off remind you of Barbie, I don´t know what will, haha!
It´s as you can see, a bright light pink shade, with a comfortable matte finish.
I have raved about the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams so often already that I´ll keep it short now. They are pretty much really comfortable to wear, are really pigmented and stay in place for a few hours. They do need a touch up quite often but one swipe is enough to get the full pigmentation back.
NYX SMLC in San Paulo
This one has been the very first lip product I have purchased from NYX.
It is the perfect summer shade for me, as it´s bright and with a mixture of coral/red/pink shades it´s the ultimate holidays lipstick for tanned skin. I simply love these NYX Liquid Lip products as they glide on so easily, are really handy to take everywhere with you and feel so comfortable on your lips even though they dry to a matte finish.
NYX SMLC in Prague
My latest addition is this one in the shade Prague. It is probably the brightest lipstick shade I own, and it does take a bit of confidence to wear it, but be honest, in the summer you are a lot braver than in the winter time so go on and pull a bright lip off!
This shade is a purple/magenta shade that is pretty much vibrant and would absolutely amazing with an full white outfit!
What is your favourite bright pink lip product? Do you prefer a nude or bright lip in the summer time?

Well hello to you my reader chums!
Sea salt hair, blue skies and forever memories, summer has to be my favourite season. With the care free attitude and endless adventures, makeup takes a back step. I use the warmer months to allow my skin to breathe, wearing lighter coverage, and glowy highlight, leaving emphasis on the lips.
Caking up your face with makeup is the last thing you need in summer when the heat is at its highest. With the increase of sweating, a higher coverage of makeup will clog up your pores, making a break out more likely – not something you want when taking those important summer holiday snaps. It’s time then to pucker up, go bold and put your statement lips on show! Natural skin, a couple of coats of mascara and striking orange lips are my favourite look on a summers day.
From bold oranges to your typical nude, I vary it up throughout this season; here are my top options:
Mac’s Lady Danger (21€)
Orange lip lovers, this is a staple you need in your life especially in the summer time! If you’re heading to a BBQ, party or evening affair, the pop of colour will complete any time of outfit. Out of all Mac’s formulations, I find the matte ones to be my favourites, seeing me through every season. With long lasting power, a strong pigment of colour and opaque finish, what’s not to love? ‘Lady Danger’ I’d describe as a bright orangey-red, the fiery shade that screams fun. It’s truly versatile and I can wear it for a variety of occasions, yet summer time is the favourite period to pop it on.
Revlon’s matte balm in ‘Audacious’ (11€)
Bronzy tans, dewy skin and a lick of mascara, this lip product is one that completes the perfect natural summer look. ‘Audacious’ is a luminous orange (not as scary as you think), brighter than ‘Lady Danger and suits slightly warmer skin tones. I find this works with my complexion best on holiday when I’ve achieved a bit of a tan and my skin has that ‘summer glow’. The formulation is incredible, despite the ‘matte status’, feeling completely creamy upon application and doesn’t leave the lips dry. Holding a peppermint scent, application is soft and the product settles on the lips like nothing has been applied. The lasting power is faultless, sticking to the lips through drinking and eating – a beautiful statement colour you need this summer.
Topshop’s ‘Rio Rio’ Lipstick (10€)
A dupe to ‘Lady Danger’, the Topshop lipstick in ‘Rio Rio’ is a top summery shade. In comparison, wearing power isn’t as long, however I find this lipstick to be more moisturising on the lips with a slight glean over the matte finish. The pigment is a tad orangeier and its formulation is velvety when applied; a staple orange shade to suit any skin tone.
NYX´s Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Stockholm’ (7€)
After jumping on the Nyx matte lipstick hype, I’ve fallen in love with the nude shade ‘Stockholm’, an everyday colour which matches with an array of looks. On days where I didn’t want to go too dramatic or bold with my lip options, I’ve opted for this nude choice. It gives an extra bit of warmth to the makeup look without looking too over the top for a natural face. The colour I would describe as a brown toned, dusky pink and the consistency applies buttery, yet sets matte. When the product has dried, the finish is completely matte but again like the other lipsticks I’ve mentioned aren’t drying on the lips. I’m truly impressed by the wear, formulation and overall colour pay off – a definite must have.
Nivea lip balm (2€)
Last but not least is a simple clear lip balm. When the warmer months hit, moisturising is essential even on your lips. I always carry around a lip balm, in particular this Nivea option because one it holds a sweet, fresh scent, two hydrates my lips and also gives the loveliest clear sheen upon application. Nivea products are the best at summer time because the scent is completely clean, nothing too sickly in the beaming heat.
I hope you enjoyed my top summer lips products post! What’s your go to lipstick?

We all know that feeling when it feels like our faces are melting, makeup sliding all over the place and looking a right mess! Heat proof bases are a must have for all of us no matter what our skin type is. I have tested many foundations being the foundation junkie I am, I currently own around 30 foundations... I dread to think how much money I have spent. I have found my perfect five heat proof foundations but all have something different about them.
Firstly how cute is this packaging, it comes with a squeeze nozzle which makes it easy to determine how much product you are getting. This foundation is a medium coverage, it isn't buildable so if medium coverage is what you love then this is for you. When I wear this you can see slightly see my freckles. It has a matte finish but not drying. It lasts really well throughout the heat.

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation | £25.00
I have been using this for a few years now and always repurchase it ready for Summer. Again like the MUFE Foundation this has a medium coverage and isn't buildable. I find this feels very lightweight on the skin compared the MAC's Studio Fix which is heavy and thick. It does work better depending on what primer you use but it is perfect for the hot weather.

Maybelline Matte & Poreless Foundation | £7.99
I have been using this for around four months and I am obsessed! This foundation has such a flawless finish. It is a medium coverage but slightly buildable. You won't get extremely full coverage with this but it is good to build up in certain area's. It doesn't sink in to pores so you see them, it literally makes them look flawless. If you have large pores you will love this. I have worn this over eight hours and had no shine! (Note this is the US version, I purchase mine on Ebay or Amazon)
Smashbox Studio Skin 15hr Wear Foundation | £29.00
This is my newest baby! This is the fullest coverage out of the five as it does provide full flawless coverage. It does have a thicker consistency compared to the others but it doesn't go cakey or feel heavy on the skin. It blends beautifully and looks flawless whilst lasting all day.

L'Oreal Infallible Foundation | £9.99
I have tried the UK version and the US version of this foundation (pictured above is the US version) and I have to say I found the US version to be 100x better! It provides medium-full coverage without being heavy. The shades in the US range are amazing. My skin looks absolutely flawless with this foundation and it lasts all day still looking flawless after eight hours. (Again this is the US version, I purchase from Ebay or Amazon)
I mainly have oily skin which sometimes can be combination but it is 90% of the time an oily mess and all of these foundations are life savers. Personally I do still use primer and powder, if you have oily skin using primer, foundation, powder and a setting spray will help keep your making lasting all day long... Go Slay Girl!
What Is Your Favourite Summer Base?
Emmy´s Blog | Bloglovin | Instagram | Twitter | Facebook
It was prom night on Saturday, eeeeeek. I´ve been waiting for that night for soo long.
Of course I put a lot of thoughts in my makeup.
It shouldn´t look too cakey but natural, should last the whole night and especially through all the eating and drinking that was sure to happen that night.
The only solution was to use the best of the best, which are these lovely products.
Summer means bright colours to me and even though I don´t opt for a lot of colourful powder and liquid products for my face, I like to bring the focus to my lips.
For my (sadly still) pale skin I prefer pink shades and that´s what today´s post is all about, I put my favourites from all kind of styles together and kinda present them to you, haha :)
I couldn´t be happier to write this post today, as it means that I´m FINALLY done with my final exams, eeeeeek. The last few weeks have been very busy with revision and weekly tutoring lessons, leaving no time to concentrate on anything else.
I also wasn´t wearing a lot of makeup, or better when I was wearing makeup I´ve always been wearing the same and that´s what today´s post is about.
My makeup look for June consisted of a glowy bronzed base, natural brows and length-y lashes.
How is it already May? Time has flown sooo quick and so it´s again time for another post of my "What´s On My Face" series, in which I show you every month what makeup products I have worn throughout the past month. April was a month with a lot of weather strangeness, at the beginning it was still very cold, then towards the middle all of sudden it turned very warm with temperatures upto 20 degress or more and now towards the end we even had snow again, like what? How is my skin supposed to keep with that?
I found it was reason enough to keep going with my minimalistic makeup look and only add some spring-y colours in it here and there :)
It´s my birthday on the 7th of April, and guess what day it is tomorrow? Exactly, my birthday :) I´m really excited to turn 17 and be one step closer to being full age and being able to do a lot of fun stuff (I´m thinking about going clubbing until the morning hours, haha)
As tomorrow is just a normal school day for me I´ll keep my makeup for the day really minimal and go for my normal routine which consists of a bit concealer, mascara and doing my eyebrows.
For the late afternoon I´ll refresh my whole look a bit and add some eyeshadow, highlighter, blush and lipstick.
I´ve listed the products I used below :)
Happy Easter everybody! I had the last week off which wasn´t as relaxing as you might think it was, basically it was lots of revision and no make up at all.
So now that it is easter I took it as a great opportunity to put on a full face, but not in a full coverage heavy foundation but more a lightweight glowy base, lots of highlighter and some pink details.
It´s Valentines Day on Sunday and the first thing that comes up in my mind is red and pink hearts and all in one just a lot of love. You could say love is in the air... but no definitely not for everyone, haha. Now when you´re like me and don´t have a special someone to spend the day with you can still have a fun time going out with your girls and also put a lot of effort into your valentines themed look.
I´m a typical girl that can´t have enough pinky/rose tones, shimmer and glow in her makeup so I got everything together to create loads of different look that include these aspects more or less!
Base:
I find glowy skin is a must for this time, having dull tired skin could ruin the whole look. So I like to reach for a full coverage foundation, over my loved The Body Shop Instablur Primer, the MAC Studio Fix in NC15, blended it with my Real Techniques Buffin Brush it gives a natural look yet every blemish and redness is covered. To cover my dark under-eye area and to complete my base I blend in the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15 with the same brush as my foundation.
Before I get my glow on I like to fix my T-Zone and make it matte as I´m not the biggest fan of shine everywhere, not only on my cheekbones, using the NYX Matte Finish Spray. A pink glowy highlighter practically screams to be used on Valentines Day and for that I like to reach for my newest love the Revlon Highlighter Palette in Rose Glow, to apply that I take a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush and swipe it across every shade and you literally get the most beautiful pinky glow you could imagine!
Eyes:
Before I get my eyeshadow on I fill in my eyebrows using this duo.
For eyes I have two options for you, one that is more pinky toned and one more red-y berry coloured. The pink option consists of the Astor Eyeshadow Stick in Chic Nude as a base and blended with stiffer blending brush to create a kinda smokey look. To add that before said shimmer to this look I take the same brush and a lot of MAC´s All That Glitter Eyeshadow and firstly tap in on my lid and then also into my crease.
The more red-y berry option is really quick and that would be to use the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate and tap that in with your finger and slightly blend it out to more of a cat-eye look. After that you could either leave it like that or apply some liquid eyeliner as a tiny cat flick my favourite for that has to be the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner.
Currently I´m all about long voluminous black lashes. For the voluminous part I use the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and work it mainly into the roots of my lashes, and then for extra length and even more volume I recently started using the Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. It has a really wet consistency so you would have to be careful with it, apart from when you´re a fan of spider lashes, haha :). The way to get the most of this mascara is to just blink through it, your lashes will get a lot longer!
Lips:
I do love a good red lip but it demands a lot of retouching throughout the day/night so this year I will go for a classic pinky-nude shade. I´m a huge fan of matte liquid lipsticks at the moment, so far I have only tried the Soft Matte Lip Creams from NYX and I really love them, a velvety texture that dries matte and lasts for a really long time. In the picture above I´ve got the shade Tokyo, a lovely light nude tone :)
Matte is definitely not something for everyone and for that I have two options both are nude and shiny. Two of my favourite lipsticks from MAC are, Cremecup with a Cremesheen finish and Angel with Satin Finish. If I would have to describe these two shades I would say they are those typicall "my lips but better" shades. They just add that hint of colour to your lips and stay on for quite a long time before disappearing evenly, so no worries about having to check very often.
Before I´m out the door I spritz the Chloé Love Story Perfume on and I´m good to go :)
What are your plans for Valentines Day?
What are some Valentines Day Makeup Essentials that you will definitely wear?

It´ autumn and time for a colour change. I love adding a berry lip or more likely, how you can see on the picture above, a mauve, red or nude shade, it really depends on the eyemakeup I go for. Bold lips for less eye and nude lips for dramatic dark eyes. I searched togehter my 5 Top Lipstick shades and some matching lip liners.
Lipliners are the essentials that really pull a perfect lip togehter. First off it´s much easier to apply bold lipstick with the help of lip liners and I find it makes your lips look defined and just absolutely to die for!
I have a really bad feeling that my little collection will grow very soon and very fast, haha :)
How you can see I bought quite a few MaxFactor ColourElixir ones, they are all just absolutely dreamy, they cost about 7€ each which is more on the pricey side for a drugstore lipliner but the quality is just amazing. Really buttery, easy to glide on, long-lasting and match with almost every lipstick I own! I got the shades: 06 Mauve Moment, 02 Pink Petal and 10 Red Rush.
Another lip liner I use quite often is the L´Oreal Contour Parfait in 658 Simply Rose. It is a pencil lipliner but anyway really similar to the MaxFactor ones, also really easy to apply and fit to loads of lipsticks. I can´t find it online anymore since I could possibly be one of the older lipliners from L´Oreal but as far as I´m aware they should be still availbe instore.
The first one is the Max Factor Colour Elixir in 745 Burnt Caramel.
This is a really lovely brown-y, mauve-y shade. It is really creamy and buttery, the colour pay-off is amazing I only need to swipe over my lips once and it lasts for a few hours. And not even does it stay amazingly long, even through eating but also it smells so goooooood! I actually find that really important in a lipstick, if it smells/tastes strange I´m not going to wear it that often, but this lipstick smells, and I´m not joking with you here, like cake to me, like a really sweet and yummy cake.
Matching Lipliners: MaxFactor lipliner in 06 Mauve Moment, L´Oreal 658 Simply Rose

A Oldie but still a Goldie is MAC´s Angel.
I remember it to be the very first lipstick I got and I´m still absolutely in love with it.
It´s from their Satin Finish section and so the finish is shiny but not glittery which looks gorgeous on a daily basis with a simple cat eye and rosy cheeks. This one is also really creamy and all in one it´s a beautiful pale pink shades.
Matching Lipliners: MaxFactor LipLiner in 02 Pink Petal.

If you are not from Germany you have probably never heard of the brand P2 before, that´s because it´s a own brand from a german drugstore, anyway I decided to include it in this post because it´s my first really bold lip product and I have to be honest, I was really insecure wearing it for the first time. It´s a matte(!) red shade with what I find a orange undertone which makes it really pop out. I looooove it so much now, you do need to wear lip balm under it since it´s really drying.
Matching LipLiner: MaxFactor LipLiner in 10 Red Rush

Now back to a nude everyday shade. The Maybelline Colour Sensational 732 Brazen Beige. This is a really nude shade and when I say really nude, I mean it looks like you put foundation all over your lips, so you have to be careful with this one. Apart from that it does look really nice if you apply loads of layers so that it looks really glossy and buttery. On a daily basis or with dramatic eyes, I choose between this one or MAC´s Angel.
Matching LipLiners: MaxFactor lipliner 02 Pink Petal

The newest addition to my collection is KIKO´s Intensely Lavish Lipstick in "01 Lusty Peony". It is supposed to be a matte shade, when it´s dry it goes matte but still looks a bit shiny and not really dried out. Even though I only just bought this lipstick I´m head over heels with it, the colour is an absolute dream, I would describe it as a rose colour. You could say it is a bold lipstick but a more natural bold lipstick. KIKO sells a matching lipliner for this one but everytime I go to a shop it´s sold out, but I´ll try my best!
Matching LipLiners: MaxFactor 06 Mauve Moment & L´Oreal 658 Simply Rose
What are your favourite lip combos for Autumn?
(swatches of some lipsticks are over on my Instagram)
This time I will compare two beauty necessitys - Setting Powders!
It seems like everyone is always on the hunt for THE perfect powder that will give you that flawless matte finish that will possibly last the whole day without having to worry about shiny skin.
Under all my makeup I found 2 powders that literally couldn´t be farer away from each other.
I´m going to compare MAC´s Mineralize Skinfinish and Rimmel´s Stay Matte.
Again they couldn´t be farer away, one is from the Highstreet, the other one is High End, MAC´s is obviously the more pricey product with 31€ and contains 10g. Rimmel´s is this time the budget friendly product with 3,30€ and contains 14g.
I´m speechless, I never thought that the Stay Matte Powder is only one tenth of the price of the Mineralize Skinfinish but contains 4g more product which is a lot of powder!
I got this Mineralize Skinfinish Neutrals Powder in Light Plus. On the website it says that this is a luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish and it provides perfect light coverage. It can be used to fix and set foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day. In the newer versions of this powder is a mirror compacted.
Now, I use it in the morning to set my foundation and I can say that I absolutely love the finish of this powder. It makes your skin look velvety soft and it really does add light coverage which, if you use a good coverage foundation, can give you a airbrush like skin.
I got this powder in the shade 001 Transparent. This powder promises to control shine with the help of natural minerals for up to 5 hours, minimizes the appearance of pores and it is dermatologically tested.
Before I got the MAC powder I used this powder on a daily basis and it definitely leaves a matte finish and maybe it minimizes the pores but if you´re under a light or just outside and look closely into a mirror, you can clearly see little particels of the powder which is the only negative thing I see in this product! It really is transparent which is a brilliant idea, because you can use it throughout the whole year, whether you are tanned or pale or whatever!
THE RESULT: SPLURGE
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder is soooooooo worth the splurge, the finish you get is an absolute dream and I can say from my own experience, that you really don´t need a lot of product! I only swipe twice over the powder and that´s basically enough! Rimmel Stay Matte is good too, but if you have used the other powder once you never want to go back!
I feel like this post is really needed, because we all use makeup brushes on a daily basis and of course we need to keep them clean just like our skin.
The real question is WHY should I even "waste" my time with cleaning the brushes that will get dirty after one use anyway? Well here is the disgustingly honest answer:
When you clean your brushes, you´re not just getting rid of old makeup but also of dirt, oil, dust, dead skin cells and bacteria! Ugh, that was gross.
If you listen to several makeup artists, they all recommend to clean your brushes at least every two weeks, but it also depends on if you´re suffering from skin breakout, if so then you should obviously clean your brushes more often.
Eyeliner brushes should be cleaned after every(!) use, not only is that important to achieve a clean line, but also to prevent eye infections!
Now that I´m done with my lecture, I also want to help you all with keeping your brushes clean and to do that I share my pretty easy brush cleansing routine:
The way I do it, is definitely not for giving your brushes a deep cleanse, but more of a every now and then, keeping your brush fresh and clean way.
All you need is:
>Brush cleanser or a mild shampoo
>Kitchen roll or cotton pads
>All dirty brushes you have
Step 1: I take 2 kitchen rolls and fold them 3-4 times, so they are thick enough and the liquid can´t get through.
Step 2: I pour a small amount of the cleanser onto the roll, about the size of your brush head will be enough.
Step 3: Swish the brush back and forth gently and don´t forget to reshape the hair while they are still wet.
Step 4: To let your brushes dry, you can either hang them upside down or you can hang them over the edge of a table so the air can circulate.
To give you an idea of what a difference my routine does to my makeup brushes , I took some Before & After pictures of my Foundation, Blending, Shadow, Powder and Concealer Brush:
I really hope this post has helped you, even if just in a slightest!
Do you have any tips on how you clean your brushes? Are there any products that help you to clean your makeup brushes faster or easier?
