This is probably the hardest "Save or Splurge" post I will ever write. It includes the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, probably the best and most talked about dupe ever. I often participate in Beauty Blogger chats over on Twitter and very often I read people discussing whether the Roller Lash or the LashSensational Mascara is better. Both have such a similar finish, it´s crazy.

The Roller Lash Mascara costs 24$ and contains 8,5g Mascara.
On the Benefit website it says, the mascara is super-curling and lifting, is easy to remove, contains Provitamin B5 and Serin which are known for their lash-conditioning benefits, is water resistant, is in Ink black and has a satin finish.
6/7 of these details are definitely true, I haven´t tried if it´s really water resistant but I will definitely give it a try.
I´m soooooo in love with this mascara! The finish it gives is breath-taking, after applying it my lashes literally go up to my brows without needing a lashcurler(!) and it also stays like that the whole time, it is easy to apply on my lower lashes and so easy to remove. It can be applied to a more natural finish or very dramatic with more layers.

The LashSensational Mascara costs 8,99$ and contains 9,5ml Mascara.
Based on the Maybelline website this mascara is said to have a unique fanning brush that is supposed to volumizes your lashes from root to tip and it has a full black intensity.
The best way to get the most out of this product is to start with the inner curve to reach the roots of lashes and then follow through tips of lashes with the longer bristles to fan them out!
I can say that in fact this mascara gives you volume at the roots and gives the rest of your lashes aswell a intense black shade. The best way to get the most out of the mascara is the way described on the website but you´ll be completely fine if you just wiggle it through your lashes, I find the difference of the finish isn´t that different.
RESULT: Splurge and treat yourself to a high-end mascara!!!
As I said before the finishes are really similar, but I do find the RollerLash is a tini tiny little bit better! My lashes just feel so much softer, look more natural, are longer and it´s just so much faster to remove which is a really important thing when you´re as lazy as I am in the evening. Also if you go for the RollerLash you won´t have to buy another waterproof mascara as it´s all in one! The LashSensational is a definitely a really good dupe if you are on a budget, but I´ll definitely treat myself with this mascara :)
Which of these mascara´s do you like better? Do you maybe have found another dupe for the RollerLash Mascara?

This time I will compare two beauty necessitys - Setting Powders!
It seems like everyone is always on the hunt for THE perfect powder that will give you that flawless matte finish that will possibly last the whole day without having to worry about shiny skin.
Under all my makeup I found 2 powders that literally couldn´t be farer away from each other.
I´m going to compare MAC´s Mineralize Skinfinish and Rimmel´s Stay Matte.
Again they couldn´t be farer away, one is from the Highstreet, the other one is High End, MAC´s is obviously the more pricey product with 31€ and contains 10g. Rimmel´s is this time the budget friendly product with 3,30€ and contains 14g.
I´m speechless, I never thought that the Stay Matte Powder is only one tenth of the price of the Mineralize Skinfinish but contains 4g more product which is a lot of powder!
I got this Mineralize Skinfinish Neutrals Powder in Light Plus. On the website it says that this is a luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish and it provides perfect light coverage. It can be used to fix and set foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day. In the newer versions of this powder is a mirror compacted.
Now, I use it in the morning to set my foundation and I can say that I absolutely love the finish of this powder. It makes your skin look velvety soft and it really does add light coverage which, if you use a good coverage foundation, can give you a airbrush like skin.
I got this powder in the shade 001 Transparent. This powder promises to control shine with the help of natural minerals for up to 5 hours, minimizes the appearance of pores and it is dermatologically tested.
Before I got the MAC powder I used this powder on a daily basis and it definitely leaves a matte finish and maybe it minimizes the pores but if you´re under a light or just outside and look closely into a mirror, you can clearly see little particels of the powder which is the only negative thing I see in this product! It really is transparent which is a brilliant idea, because you can use it throughout the whole year, whether you are tanned or pale or whatever!
THE RESULT: SPLURGE
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder is soooooooo worth the splurge, the finish you get is an absolute dream and I can say from my own experience, that you really don´t need a lot of product! I only swipe twice over the powder and that´s basically enough! Rimmel Stay Matte is good too, but if you have used the other powder once you never want to go back!
After a one month pause, I´m finally back and I´m starting with a new series that I came up with! It´s called "Save or Splurge" and I will introduce you to a more pricey and a budget friendly version of several makeup products, today I´ll start with PRIMERS :)
The two primers that I want to compare are The Body Shop´s Instablur and Benefit´s The POREfessional :)
The prices of these primers are quite far apart, The Body Shop´s with 15€ is only half the price of Benefit´s with 33€!
One thing that definitely doesn´t justify the price of The POREfessional is that this primer only contains 22ml, unlike Instablur which contains 25ml, which is a lot of product compared to the price difference.
The Body Shop Instablur Primer is said to control shine for 12h, reduce the appearance of pores, hides blemishes, unifydes complexion and extendes makeup. From my own experience I can say that 3 1/2 of 5 of their promises are true, it reduces my pores, unifydes the complexion and makes my makeup extend, it definitely controls my shine but not for 12h! It doesn´t hide blemishes at all, but that´s what concealer is here for, isn´t it ;)
Its texture is realy velvety and great to blend, it also gives your skin that velvety and soft finish. You should let it sink in for some time though, that way it´s easier to blend your foundation in.
Benefit´s The POREfessional promises to quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines, complementes all skin tones because of it´s oil-free formula, help your makeup stay put and to protect your skin from free radicals because of its vitamin E derivative. For this primer I can say that all of their promises are true. My skin looks absolutely flawless when I wear this primer! My hugest pores are on my cheeks along my nose and after I apply this primer they are GONE! It controls shine, needs a bit of help from face powders anyway.
Its texture looks heavy compared to TBS´s but it´s lightweight once blended into your skin, also the colour of this primers won´t be seen after you have blended it in, so don´t worry about that :)
THE RESULT: SAVE
Both primers help you with that flawless skin, and even though the POREfessional is better at reducing pores, the Body Shop´s is a really good dupe version that you can more likely repurchase everytime without having to think twice.
But if you want to treat yourself than go for Benefit´s the POREfessional!
