I´m so glad to be able to write this post, as it means that I finally found a skincare routine that really makes a difference to my skin.
Skincare was for me, a few years ago before I started blogging, an complicated and maybe even a bit scary topic. I didn´t know which skin type I had, so I also had no idea which products I should get to keep my skin in a good condition.
Now that I got more into reading other people experience with different kind of products and skincare treatment, I was able to try myself through some things that were hyped and promised to work very good and I found a good selection of skincare products that work very good together and helped to clear my (for me) problematic combination skin.
The Cleansers
Garnier Micellar Water for Dry & Sensitive Skin (5€)
The micellar water from Garnier has been in my little selection for the longest time now, I might even say I´m using it since it was launched. I prefer to use it as a makeup remover more than an actual cleanser though. As a makeup remover it does a really good job, it doesn´t require a lot of harsh rubbing to get my eyemakeup of and my eyes also don´t get irritated if I accidentally touch my eyeball with it (this happens more often than you might think). After removing the rest of my makeup, foundation, contour, ..., it does leave a bit of a tight feeling to my skin, after washing my face with water it´s gone though, so nothing that would stop me from using this micellar water.
La Roche Posay Eau Micellaire Water (15€ / 400ml)
You probably wonder why I´m using another micellar water after the Garnier one, well now that I removed my makeup my skin isn´t properly cleansed.
The difference between these two is that the La Roche Posay Micellar Water includes ingredients that are strong enough to remove any leftover oils and dirt out of your pores, all while soothing the skin.
After I go over my skin with this water, the cotton pad is literally grey and my skin feels very soft and all in one just soo clean.
This micellar water is slightly more on the pricier side but if you research you can definitely find a good deal!
Morning & Night Moisturizers
Clarins Huile Lotus Face Treatment Oil (43€ / 30ml)
My first Clarins product is a total winner. This oil is made of pure plant extracts and essential oils to help balance the skin out.
It is said to be used on combination/oily skin, which is perfect for me to use at night.
Because of it including ingredients like Rosemary, Geranium and Lotus which purifies the skin, tightens pores and refines the skin´s texture I apply it all over my face but concentrate to rub it especially on the areas where my skin has the largest pores and feels tighter. I leave it on for the whole night and wash it off right after I got out of bed.
Origins GinZing Moisturizer (24€ / 50ml)
My hopes were high for this product, as I´ve saw it being used and raved about from a lot of different people and luckily it works just as good for me as for everyone else, hahaha.
I use it in the morning before I apply foundation as it gives a natural radiant glow to my skin because of it lightweight gel-like texture and the Panax Ginseng and Coffee Beans it includes.
The smell of coffee beans might be off putting in things like moisturizers but don´t worry, it doesn´t smell like that at all (not even a tiny bit)! It has the loveliest smell of fresh oranges and citrus fruits and also skins in very fast, so you don´t have to wait for a long time before you can keep going with your morning routine.
The Special Treatments
Origins Clear Improvement Face Mask (25€ / 100ml)
This face mask is a serious skin life changer and saver.
Since I got it for Christmas I try to apply it once a week, and even after the first few uses I could already see a positive change to the look of my skin.
As you can see, it´s a black face mask which dries down to that typical tight feeling but it´s not problem to wash off afterwards with a damp washcloth and also doesn´t leave the skin feeling sore, but more just really clean and free of dirt.
This mask inludes three key essentials for a deep cleanse of your skin.
Bamboo Charcoal as a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins and Lecithin to disolve impurities.
DM Balea Jasmin Blossom Peeling Gel (1,45€ / 75ml)
Once a week I also like to reach for a peeling gel to remove any dead skin cells and exfoliate my skin. A peeling would probably be too rough for my skin that´s why I prefer to use it in a gel form.
I put some of it onto my hand and carefully massage it over my skin and especially in these areas where my skin is the driest. It smells very lovely like jasmin blossom and doesn´t leave my skin feeling tight after washing it off.
This peeling gel that I use is from the german drugstore and contains bamboo peeling particles to remove dry skin properly, improves the blood circulation, cleanse and refines the complexion.
